Universal Lighting Technologies Launches 150-Watt HID Ballasts
Universal Lighting Technologies introduces the new ULT 150W electronic HID ballast series for use with both open- and enclosed-rated 150W metal halide lamps. Ideal for open-rated luminaries without lenses, these ballasts can cut energy use by lighting fixtures by ten percent or more compared to traditional magnetic HID ballasts, and they feature universal input voltage so contractors can replace both 120V and 277V units with a single product.
Electronic High Intensity Discharge (or eHID) ballasts can significantly reduce energy use and monthly operating costs in a broad range of applications such as warehouses, big-box retail stores, factories, manufacturing facilities, schools, and parking lots. The 150W line of eHID ballasts from Universal Lighting Technologies features microprocessor-controlled intelligence for superior lamp performance, safety, and high efficiencies that exceed EISA & CEC Title 24 requirements.
These ballasts also stabilize lamp color temperature by providing a relatively constant output power, and they provide flicker-free performance throughout the lifespan of the lamp. In addition, Universal Lighting Technologies’ eHID ballasts offer the opportunity to downsize the luminaire housing and reduce wiring costs. Additional features include quiet operation and a rugged, lightweight design. Product options include footed and junction box-studs and the value-added “JT3 version with 120V tap” for recessed fixture self-heating thermal protectors.
