Turtle & Hughes CEO Jayne Millard Receives Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Ernst & Young LLP has announced that Jayne Millard, CEO of Turtle & Hughes, Inc., received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 Award in the distribution, manufacturing and construction category in New Jersey. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Millard was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a special gala on June 27, 2012 at the Hyatt New Brunswick.
Ms.Millard joined Turtle & Hughes in 1991, she was appointed vice president of marketing in 1999, president of the company in 2007 and, in April 2010, she was named chief executive officer. Ms.Millard assumed this role in the midst of economic uncertainly and has maintained a strong growth rate year after year.
Turtle &Hughes, established in 1923, is a fourth generation family-owned business with a long legacy of leadership by women. Ms. Millard is the third generation of women to lead the company.
As a New Jersey award winner, Millard is now eligible for consideration for the National Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Award. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the National Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 17, 2012.
