The Oregon Chapter of the National Electrical Manufacturers’ Representatives Association presented a check for $3,000 to the Oregon Muscular Dystrophy Summer Camp. Presenting the check on the behalf of the Oregon NEMRA Chapter members are Ralph Bliquez, from Ewing-Foley, Eli Albaugh, with Acuity Lighting and Kevin Adams, President of Shaffer-Nelson Inc.
Since 2000 the Oregon Chapter of NEMRA has donated the proceeds from their Annual Industry-Wide Golf Tournament to the Oregon MDA Summer Camp. Funds have been used over the years to assist with camp improvements, including paving pathways, improving accessibility and repairing equipment for camp participants.
The Oregon MDA Summer Camp is held each summer at a facility on Mt. Hood. Children and young adults from Oregon have the opportunity to play, swim, and participate in camp events in an environment that is safe and accessible to participants with many levels of physical limitations. Many volunteers work tirelessly to make this a special week for each camp participant.
Over the years, many members of the Oregon electrical community have donated their time by sponsoring a camp participant. Gary Etlinger of Platt Electric began recruiting counselors in 1986. Counselors provide around the clock care and participate in camp events for the week that the Summer Camp is in session.
This year’s NEMRA Golf Tournament will be held on September 20th at Stone Creek Golf Club. Proceeds will go to benefit the Oregon MDA Summer Camp. We invite you to join us this year as Electrical Industry Contractors, Distributors, Engineers and Manufacturer’s Representatives come together to enjoy a day on the golf course and raise money for this worthy cause. Contact your Oregon NEMRA representative for information and Sign-up Forms.”
