IEC Welcomes the Next Generation
At Palmer High School’s recent career fair, Executive Director of the IEC Southern Colorado chapter, Curt Brewer spent time talking to students about careers in the electrical industry. As an alternative to the four year college path students can pursue education preparing them for careers in the electrical trades. Curt showed them how a three-way switch works on a low voltage board.
The IEC uses the three -way switches along with motor troubleshooting lab boards in the classrooms. The students had the opportunity to ask questions about the opportunities in the field. Many gathered information about what it takes to become an electrician.
The career fair was an opportunity to reach out to the next generation of electricians and provide them with some information. For more information about the IEC visit: www.iecscc.org.
If you have an event that you want to share with the industry give us a call (800) 782-5493 or send us an e-mail karine@electricalnews.com. We can help you put together a press release to let the industry know what you are up to. It is free of charge.
