An Award of Excellence
Transcat, one of Megger’s national distributors, recently presented the “Award of Excellence for Outstanding Strategic Partner Performance in Fiscal 2012” to Megger during a site meeting at the Valley Forge, Pennsylvania facility. Transcat, headquartered in Rochester, New York, and Megger have been in a partnership for over 25 years. There has been a consistent addition of new elements to the partnership, along with a mutual growth of respect as market leaders.
Jay Clark, Director of Vendor Marketing, gave a brief overview of Transcat’s history and commented, “We think long term at Transcat. We make 5000 new contacts a year and we’re leveraging our relationship with Megger.” David Danner, National Distribution Sales Manager for the US, manages the Transcat account. “With the help of David, Transcat has reached the wind energy market which opens up a new niche for us,” stated Jay.
Nicole VanWert, Director of Marketing Communications for Transcat, addressed the employees with information about the way Transcat goes to market, and how their proactive programs are designed to drive growth with a strategic partner such as Megger. “Our goal is to enhance communication and strengthen the partnership we have. The relationship has grown in such a way that we are pleased to present this award of excellence to Megger. Who determines which partner receives the award? Transcat developed a vendor scorecard and gets input from all departments including sales, operations, materials management, marketing, and warehouse. The elements of the scorecard include account management, customer service, quality of products, training and resources, sales/marketing support, and financial. Where did Megger excel in Transcat’s supplier performance scorecard? Perfect scores were received in sales/marketing support and account management. Near-perfect scores were received in all other aspects.
